Around 1930 the Texas Glass Company opened here, adding a manufacturing employer to the farm economy. Today Santa Anna remains a quiet, self-contained town serving the surrounding ranch country. The Santa Anna Mountains, a two-mile range rising just north of town to about 2,000 feet, give the community a distinctive backdrop and name.
