Bedias (pronounced BEE-dysse) is a small incorporated city in northeastern Grimes County, Texas, at the junction of State Highway 90 and Farm Roads 1696 and 2620. It lies roughly 30 miles northeast of Navasota and sits between the university towns of College Station and Huntsville, giving it convenient highway access to both. Incorporated as a city only in 2003, Bedias is one of the newer municipalities in a county whose rural roots run deep. The settlement itself is far older than its incorporation. A post office was established in the mid-1800s, a Baptist church was organized in 1848, and the first Methodist congregation followed in 1871.
